Atten Parents: The JFK Splash Party Dances are provided by the City of Pottsville for the benefit of the teens.These dances started in 2002 with myself,"yours truly Dj Ray",performing the first dance at a Parking Lot on Mahatongo Street in Pottsville with an attendance of about 15 students.These dances alternated between various parking lots and the JFK Pool which also included alternate Djs.I was asked by a City Councilwoman what can be done to improve attendance.I replied move all the dances to JFK Pool and use one Dj being myself.The following year 2003 the dance took off with attendance in the 200+ range.
Finally in later years the average attendance grew to 500-600+ with the record being 800 students for a single dance.

For your peace of mind,these dances are very secure with a Security Crew on duty.There is no smoking on the premises and no one is permitted to leave and return during the same nite. Any student suspected of being under the influence will be checked and if tested positive will be removed from the dance.

Security also includes Life Guards and JFK Management Team.Parents are permitted to check up on their kids. If you cannot locate your child then see myself DjRay and I will announce their name.

In order to make this dance affordable for everyone,all of the staff involved are working at a reduced rate.My rate is 50% of the regular price for a 3 hour dance.I am also taking a chance by having expensive equipment exposed to sudden downpours.

In closing I want to thank all parents for supporting these dances and having to put up with the congested parking lot when picking them up.These dances mean everything to these kids,so please encourage them to attend.
