Attendance was about 300.Last week's attendance figures were posted as 280+ & were based on numbers up to 9:00pm. Due to many people arriving after 9:00pm,actual attendance for last week was 330+. A survey of the audience revealed that 7th,8th & 9th were probably the dominant age group followed by Jrs & Sophomores.Tonite featured a Hula Hoop contest which is performed with a circle of contestants moving the Hoop thur their arms & bodies without releasing their hand grip & when the music stops the person still touching the hoop is out.Next week will feature Hula Hoop contests based on duration in various positions such as one leg off the ground.Tonight also featured many swimmers. Swimming was still quite active as of 9:00pm.
Age limits on this dance are 5th thur 12th grade.This dance is made possible by Schuylkill County Drug and Alcohol Executive Commission & Nancy Schlitzer of the Pottsville City Council.All dances are supervised and policed.Smoking is not permitted on the premises and anyone that leaves the dance will not be allowed to re-enter during that dance. Admission fee is $2.00 for non season pass holders & $1.00 for season pass holders and includes swimming privileges.
